Info: At eight years old, Kazue was a shy boy who, despite a strong desire to make friends, tended to spend more time with books than people. In an attempt to get him more involved with peers, his mother enrolled him in a beginner's hip hop class (so she'd only have to make one trip when picking his older sister up from ballet). Kazue showed potential right off that bat, improving with age and joining a crew a couple of years later. He garnered attention for being the crew's youngest member and for his skill in breaking and went on to win a national competition with his teammates.
Despite his success as a dancer, Kazue has remained a normal and (mostly) humble teenage boy. He does relish in the attention he gets from girls at school and occasionally plays up his accomplishments just a bit when flirting, but in the end he still has his shy, awkward moments that come with regular teenage boy territory. He's just a friendly guy who genuinely tries to live a normal life in spite of his popularity. He does, however, tend to bottle up his negative feelings and hide them with a smile. Unfortunately for Kazue, the male half of his school wasn't very happy with their female classmates' infatuation with him. They began to spread rumors about him, accusing him of being a pompous jerk and a womanizer. It wasn't long until Kazue was faced with bullying from his jealous schoolmates, never revealing this shameful secret to his friends or family out of fear. During a particularly physical confrontation in which one of the thugs threatened one of his friends while hitting him, Kazue snapped and began to fight back. His counterattack put his oppressor in the hospital, though the entire incident was kept hush-hush, so the bullying went on uninterrupted. When Kazue was given an invitation to attend Hope's Peak Academy, he accepted without hesitation, hoping to improve his skill and escape his torment.

She wasn't any less unruly or headstrong, but she, unlike her brother, was actually keen on following in her father's footsteps and showed a promising capacity to learn.
